Aufgeräumt / Sorted is a piece composed of several delicate sheets of textile, originally used for teabags. Each sheet bears subtle stains from the tea it once held, imbuing it with a quiet, intimate history.
Typed with an old typewriter, sayings, words, and poems have been transcribed onto each layer. These phrases were gathered over the course of a year, captured from screenshots the artist took every other day. Each screenshot, reflecting a moment of personal resonance, was carefully copied onto the fabric before being deleted from the phone and all other devices.
The title, Aufgeräumt (meaning “tidied up”), suggests both a physical and mental act of sorting. On one level, it refers to the process of decluttering one’s digital space—preserving words that felt significant at the time and letting go of the rest. On another, it evokes a process of mental housekeeping, where the act of reading these words allows for self-reflection and the realignment of thoughts toward healthier, more intentional directions.
Bound together with a wooden stick and thread, the layers of fabric form a small booklet, a tangible collection of thoughts and moments that once lived in the digital ether but are now preserved in a physical, meditative form.
